Australian-based luxury label appoints chief marketing officer

Tema Moda, a sustainable fashion brand created by Italian luxury designers, has appointed its own CMO

Italian luxury fashion label, Tema Moda, has brought on a new chief marketing officer as part of efforts to strategically build its brand.

Caterina Nesci has joined the Australian-based specialist in women’s clothing and products this month, bringing more than 20 years’ brand building experience locally and internationally. Coming from out of category, she spent the last eight years with La Trobe Financial overseeing communications initially before rising to executive head of marketing, then director of ESG and partnerships. For this, Nesci recently received CEO Magazine’s Corporate Responsibility Executive of the Year Award.

Other roles on Nesci’s resume include international legal firms while located in Hong Kong and Melbourne.

At Tema Moda, Nesci will be responsible for expanding brand reach across Australia, implementing shop fronts and direct-to-customer strategies and spearheading the fashion label’s repositioning as a luxury fashion label. She reports directly to Tema Moda CEO and co-founder, Roberta Marchesini.

Tema Moda’s lead designer and matriarch is Emanuella Tellaroli, who holds several decades’ experience in couture, having worked with several luxury brands globally. The fashion label is committed to sustainable production, with all raw materials sourced from the Lake Como region of Italy and from producers using sustainable and environmentally friendly processes.

“We are thrilled to welcome Caterina to the family. Caterina’s marketing and brand management experience, coupled with her sustainability knowledge, will play a pivotal role in expanding the Tea Moda brand here and globally,” said Marchesini.

Nesci said she was pleased to have the opportunity to help grow the Tema Moda brand and is looking to making it one of Australia’s most recognised and sought-after sustainable fashion labels.

“As a proud first-generation Italian who has an innate passion for fashion, this opportunity to work with Roberta and her great team and build Tema Moda into a widely recognised high-end brand was a perfect fit. I am looking forward to working with Roberta and building on what this fashion label has to offer our clientele”.

Marketing prowess versus the enigma of the metaverse

Flash back to the classic film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Television-obsessed Mike insists on becoming the first person to be ‘sent by Wonkavision’, dematerialising on one end, pixel by pixel, and materialising in another space. His cinematic dreams are realised thanks to rash decisions as he is shrunken down to fit the digital universe, followed by a trip to the taffy puller to return to normal size.

More than money talks in sports sponsorship

As a nation united by sport, brands are beginning to learn money alone won’t talk without aligned values and action. If recent events with major leagues and their players have shown us anything, it’s the next generation of athletes are standing by what they believe in – and they won’t let their values be superseded by money.
