Aisling Hassell

Head of Global Customer Experience, Airbnb and Site Lead (Dublin)

Aisling is responsible for Airbnb’s customer experience operations globally. She leads a team focused on supporting every element of the guest and host experience on Airbnb. She also heads Airbnb’s Dublin office, its largest base outside of the US.
Prior to joining Airbnb, Aisling was director of global customer experience and web strategy at Sage. She has also held senior customer experience roles at both Vodafone and Symantec in Europe and the United States.

Mark Reinke

Chief customer experience officer, Suncorp

Mark Reinke was appointed Group Executive in December 2013. Mark has over 25 years experience in senior marketing, product, distribution and strategy roles across financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and packaging industries.

Mark led the integration of Suncorp and Promina customer and marketing functions, created a single view of customer across the group and has overseen significant improvements in the leverage of the groups brand and customer assets.

He joined Suncorp in 2004 and became General Manager Group Marketing in 2005 and Executive General Manager in 2008. Prior to joining Suncorp Mark held senior Marketing roles with Telstra focussed on consumer segments and product bundling. He spent 14 years with the BHP Group in a range of senior roles which included P&L accountability for the Australian Pipe and Tube market and based in the U.S responsible for the development of new markets in the US and Mexico.

Jane Sydenham-Clarke

CEO, Freemasons Victoria

Having led award-winning teams at both Federation Square and the Southgate Arts and Leisure Precinct, Jane has developed a particular interest in building communities through innovative engagement particularly leveraging contemporary communications. Her focus has been on contributing to revitalising Melbourne and Victoria as internationally recognised destinations with vibrant public places that attract high visitation and engagement. In her most recent role as Manager Marketing and Program at Federation Square, Jane’s portfolio encompassed events, creative, multimedia, education, marketing and tourism portfolios. Through these, she placed high priority on place making and community capacity building creating great experiences for visitors to ‘get under the skin’ of an experience and destination.
Previously, Jane was director of her own consultancy company, lconica Pty Ltd specialising in social marketing and communications for various public authorities and corporations. Prior to this, as Precinct and Marketing Manager at Southgate Arts and Leisure Precinct, she led another award-winning team across cultural, tourism, retail and property marketing. While as Marketing and Communications Manager at the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, Jane’s focus was on sports and arts sponsorship, media and communications to effect mass cultural change.
Jane came to these roles as a trained general and psychiatric nurse with academic qualifications from Monash University – BA (Hons) Sociology and MA Communications, and is a graduate of the Institute of Company Directors and Leadership Victoria. Community contributions have included Chair Health Issues Centre and Committee of Management Centre for Grief Education.

John Batistich

Former director of Marketing, Scentre Group (Westfield)

John Batistich is the former director of marketing for Scentre Group, owners and operators of Westfield in Australia and New Zealand. He has more than 22 years of experience in research, marketing and general management with bluechip companies including Lion Nathan, Kimberly Clark, PepsiCo Foods and The Wrigley Company. He has also been a member of the Australian Market & Social Research Society Client Advisory Board.
John has led marketing communications that have won a Cannes Lion award and an Australian Effective Awards. He is also a member of the Board of Governors for The Heart Research Institute.

John holds a Masters in Management degree from MGSM majoring in Human Resources, a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Western Sydney majoring in Marketing and a Certificate in Digital Marketing from ADMA.

David Raab

Principal, Raab Associates (US)

David M. Raab is Principal at Raab Associates, Inc, a consultancy specialising in marketing analytics and technology. His clients include major firms in retail, financial services, telecommunications, publishing, technology, and other industries. Mr. Raab has written hundreds of articles and blog posts on marketing technology and regularly speaks at conferences worldwide. He is founder and CEO of the Customer Data Platform Institute, which educates marketers and technologists on getting the most value from their customer data. Mr. Raab holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Cambell Holt

Principal, Chief Customer Officer Pacific Melbourne, Mercer

Cambell is the Chief Customer Officer leading our Financial Advice, Customer, Digital and Consumer Marketing teams in the Pacific Market. He is responsible for the customer experience of around 1.3 million individuals across the Pacific.

Cambell joined Mercer in January 2014 as Consumer Marketing Leader. Prior to joining Mercer in 2014, Cambell’s 20 year global career has spanned a wide range of financial services in Australia, Asia and Europe. He’s held senior marketing and commercial roles in leading organisations such as ANZ, E*Trade, OnePath, and the London Stock Exchange.

He holds an MBA, a Bachelor of Applied Science, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

Cameron Pearson

Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, Cover-More Group

Cameron joined Cover-More Group in 2011 as part of a new, transformational leadership team recruited to push the company to ambitious revenue and profitability targets in Australia and Asia. He’s been responsible for re-instilling customer-centricity and customer engagement as a major driver for key business decisions around product design, capability development, ancillary revenue priorities and promotion and advertising spend.
Cover-More Group is a global specialist and integrated travel insurance, medical assistance and employee assistance provider. The group has more than 1500 employees and strong market positions in Australia, India and the USA where the group owns Travelex Insurance Services. In addition, it has a presence in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Before joining Cover-More, Cameron was a partner and regional leader with strategic consulting firm, Reinventures, helping to champion a unique approach to value transformation that drives innovation in the world’s most successful businesses.
After starting his extensive career at international healthcare company, Johnson and Johnson, Cameron joined Mondial Assistance Australia, part of the Allianz group of companies, in 2004 as Sales and Marketing Director. In late 2008, he was promoted to dual responsibility for Australia and Asia-Pacific, rising to Director of Growth and Innovation. In total, Cameron has more than 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing and innovation, with particular expertise in managing complex brands and working to achieve profitable growth while maintaining strong brand loyalty.

Katja Forbes

Founder, syfte

Katja is the founder of syfte, specialist in research & experience design, educator in Design Thinking and Interaction Design at University of Sydney and co-founding member of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) Sydney. She holds a BA Communications (broadcast journalism) a Master of Multimedia Design and a Master of science (Human Centred Systems). Katja has been working in digital media since the mid 1990’s back when everyone had blue hair and rode razor scooters around the office. Such a long tenure in the industry has afforded her with invaluable experience and perspective which she loves to share. Most recently she’s been exploring the world of digital auras and ambient intelligence as well as less creepy topics like holistic experience design and wearable tech and cognition.

Dr Fiona Kerr

Speaker, neuroscientist professor, implementer

Fiona combines an industry professor role with Adelaide University in the areas of Neural and Systems Complexity, with public speaking and consulting to companies, industry sectors and governments on how leaders build better brains and businesses, Artificial Intelligence and the neurophysiological impact of humans interfacing with both humans and technologies. Fiona has 30 years of business experience in a number of sectors and has held positions at all organisational and board levels. She has spent time with fascinating organisations such as Cirque du Soleil, appears regularly in the media (including ABC Radio and TV and SBS Insight) to delight people with accessible science, and is currently writing a book on human –technology interaction.

Leisa Bacon

Director of audiences

Leisa Bacon has over 20 years’ experience working across marketing, communications, digital and strategy roles. Throughout the last decade these have been at executive and director levels, in both government and large commercial businesses. Leisa has strong foundations in customer-first thinking, processes and commercial ROI from her early career in blue chip consumer goods
marketing; more recently she has focused on working with organisations navigating major change and transformation agendas.

Her current role as Director of Audiences at the ABC focuses on building a strong understanding of audiences, stakeholder management, marketing, communications, digital, experience design and change management. She leads a team of 180 across
all aspects of the audience experience, and is responsible for ensuring the ABC pivots with the changing behavior of audiences into an increasingly digital future.

Gavin Merriman

Head of Digital - Global, Nude by Nature

Responsible for driving global growth and advocacy via digital channels.

Previously worked as HoD or Digital Director roles at Shop Direct Group (the UK’s 2nd largest online retailer), BWS (Woolworths), Guardian Media Group, Universal Music, and Metcash (IGA/Mitre 10).

Stuart O’Neill

Head of Business ANZ , SAP Hybris

Stuart O’Neill is the Head of Business for the ANZ region for SAP Hybris. In this role, Stuart has helped champion e-Commerce adoption amongst leading Telecom and retail customers globally, leading the strategic Customer Engagement and Commerce line of business for SAP in ANZ. A technology sales professional with deep industry knowledge, Stuart has spent the past six years evangelizing an industry-wide shift to ecommerce and the cloud in Europe, Asia and Australia and has helped position hybris as a leader in the ecommerce market in Australia and NZ.

Stuart has spent the last 15 years working in the networking and e-Commerce industry in both Europe and Asia and is recognized as one of the leading experts in ecommerce in Australia. His expertise has been garnered through his experience working as a sales professional with leading players in the industry including Nortel Networks, Cisco, Fujistu and Digital River. Stuart has travelled extensively, and has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Stuart holds an MBA specialized in Marketing and bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Clive Dickens

Chief Digital Officer, Seven West Media

Clive joined Seven West Media (ASX:SWM) in 2015 as the Chief Digital Officer for Seven West Media and as a non-Executive Director at Yahoo 7. He oversees all strategic and operational aspects of Seven West Media’s digital content and digital revenue activities.

Clive’s career to date has been a unique Digital/Broadcast media hybrid – never very far from Broadcast Content nor from a Digital team and boasts over 30 years’ experience, which has taken him from New York to Los Angeles, Mumbai to Johannesburg, Budapest to Berlin and London to now Australia. Clive’s first digital role was in 1995 with the multi award winning team at Capital Interactive part of then one of the largest Broadcasters in the UK.

Clive was also an advisor to the founders of the world leading mobile company Shazam used by more than 700 million people in over 60 countries and was recently valued at $1bn. Since Shazam, Clive has also advised a number of other successful digital start-ups, helping them achieve growth, maturity, IPO or exit.

In 2008 Clive co-founded Absolute Radio for the Times of India – the World’s largest English language newspaper publisher as COO. Absolute Radio has a world leading reputation for Digital, Social, Mobile innovation with more than 77% of its audience via a digital platform. Absolute Radio pioneered the new 'In-Stream’ premium marketing platform. Clive was also a Founding Director of UK Radio Player Ltd, a joint venture between UK Broadcasters and the BBC that is used each month by 6m users to simplify discovery of live Broadcast Content.

In April 2013 he relocated from the UK to Australia to take the reigns as Director of Digital and Innovation at Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), overseeing strategic and operational aspects of the company’s diverse and multifaceted digital content and free-to-air television platform. During the 20 months Clive was at SCA, his digital team achieved a 700% increase in digital traffic, which in turn drove 50 % increase in digital revenue and EBITDA by over 90%.

Clive is one of the Founder Directors of Code Club – a not for profit after-school coding club for Australian primary school children funded in part by a grant from the Telstra Foundation.

Bill Binch

Managing Director - APAC, Marketo

Bill Binch joined Marketo as the 17th employee in 2008 and oversaw its go to market growth for the next 7 years. As the leader of worldwide sales, he helped expand Marketo from a single product company selling into the United States to a software platform for small, medium, and enterprise organisations across the globe.

In 2016, Binch moved to Sydney, Australia to lead all functions of the ANZ team and expand Marketo’s presence into Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Marketo, he worked at Oracle, PeopleSoft, and BEA in a variety of sales management roles.

Bill has 23 years of sales & marketing experience and is an active writer/presenter on topics around B2B marketing, sales & marketing alignment, scaling businesses, and the buyer’s journey.

Mark Hocknell

Performance Measurement Specialist

Mark’s experience spans three decades across corporate leadership, consulting and academia. From line management service/sales roles at Suncorp and implementing operational CRM (outcome: highest cross-selling rate in the industry), to teaching at the Graduate School of Business (QUT), CRM and Sales Management. Mark has consulted with more 70 organisations in more than 200 engagements.

There are two core focus areas to Mark’s consulting work. Firstly, Performance Improvement. Mark is accredited in the PuMP® (performance measurement methodology) and has worked with more than 35 organisations to develop and implement performance management and measurement processes and develop a continuous improvement culture. His second focus area is the, Customer Centric approach to Business. This area of practice focuses on the development of customer centricity with the view of aligning resources and maximising business results. This includes the development of customer strategies, tailoring sales processes and customer management practice (account management). Mark has worked across industries and applied methods in both a B2B and B2C context to improve customer experience and customer management capability, sales results and the delivery of value to customers.

Mark has an MBA from QUT, he is certified in Prosci Change Management and is a Net Promoter Certified Associate (NPS).

Lawrence Mitchell

Chief Customer Officer, SumoSalad

Lawrence Mitchell is a global marketing and customer experience leader based in Sydney. He is currently Chief Customer Officer for SumoSalad, the world’s largest salad company and founder of Raw Energy, a corporate well-being platform. Prior to joining Sumo, Lawrence was Global CMO for the RELX group based in London, a FTSE 20 company which successfully transformed from a traditional magazine publisher to a global data, analytics and software business​.

Tom Dusseldorp

Chief Marketing Officer, Freedom Foods

Tom Dusseldorp joined the group in 2014 and has over 10 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry. He started his career in Ad agencies working across dynamic branded businesses and in 2008 Tom moved client side joining global beverage business Pernod Ricard and has worked in Australia and in the UK in various local and global roles. Tom has re-framed the communication objectives and led a strong focus on NPD for expansion into new markets within Freedom Foods Group across Australia, USA and Asia.

Asim Brown

Managing Director & Founder, Bountye

Asim is the Managing Director and founder of Bountye, an early stage community-based mobile platform for second hand goods. Users can donate some of their proceeds to charities or schools and receive a tax-deductible receipt. With a focus on digital-only channels, their user base grew at 20% MoM in the first 18 months with over 60,000 users.

Prior to launching Bountye Asim was responsible for developing eBay Australia’s merchant acquisition and integration strategy, which now boast over 35,000 retail merchants. Asim has worked in technology for over 20 years, with a foundation in back-office and online commerce. He spent the first half of his career working at several start-ups in Silicon Valley and continues to maintain strong contacts there.

Nick Hickford

General Manager – Marketing & Innovation, Bulla Dairy Foods

Nick heads the team driving brand awareness and development, as well as strategic innovation at this iconic Australian family owned company.

When joining the company in 2014, Nick was tasked with the challenge of significantly growing this Australian brand across ice cream and cream categories. Over this three-year period, he has been the driver of a successful strategic agenda underpinned by an award-winning marketing and advertising campaign.
This strategic program has included bringing exceptional talent into the Bulla team, specifically in the research & development department. Nick has also implemented a strong new product development program together with longer-term innovation capability, designed to deliver sustainable growth for the brand over the next 10 years.

An important part of his success to date has been demonstrated in the advertising campaign delivered as part of the new master brand strategy. The campaign has resonated with the market, telling the story of the brand’s history and heritage, and bringing to life a great Australian company.

Prior to joining Bulla, Nick was the CEO of Wilson Everard Advertising, establishing its strategic and digital offering and building on the agency’s strong reputation for retail marketing. Nick also ran The Bridge Consulting Group for nine years, transitioning the consultancy into an advertising agency, working on brands including Woolmark, National Australia Bank, Dairy Australia, Murray Goulburn Dairy, Bulla Dairy Foods, SPC Fruit and Europcar.

Geraint Davies

COO, iHeartRadio Australia & Asia

Geraint has over 30 years’ experience in the Media industry both within large corporate entities and private businesses. Prior to immigrating to Australia in 2004, Geraint worked for some of the UK’s largest media companies across TV, Outdoor and Cinema.
In Australia, Geraint has worked as COO of APN Outdoor, CEO of Horizon Media and COO of Austereo. In 2010, Geraint was appointed as COO of the Australian Radio Network.

Having successfully launched the iHeartRadio Brand and Service in Australia in 2013, Geraint took on the role of COO of iHeartRadio for Australia and Asia, looking after all aspects of the product and service in this region.

Paul Harapin

Vice President & General Manager, Asia Pacific & Japan, Domo

Paul brings nearly 30 years of experience to Domo building high-growth enterprise businesses in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) as well as the Australia-New Zealand-South Pacific region.

Through various leadership roles, Paul has excelled in working with startups, mergers & acquisitions, company rebuilds and sales and marketing strategy, including establishing new business models and venture funding. Prior to Domo, Paul served as CEO of Decimal Software, a cloud-based enterprise software company for the financial services industry. Paul also helped establish several companies in the Pan Asian region, including two of the most
successful software companies in history, VMware and Tivoli Systems, taking both from startups to major industry players. Working actively in the not for profit sector, Paul sits on the
board of various organizations, mostly relating to child welfare issues and has been voted one of the most influential people in the Australian technology industry two years running by SmartCompany.com.

Chris Quinn

Vice-President of Marketing, Schneider Electric Pacific Zone

Chris Quinn has been working in the energy efficiency, automation and electrical products space for over 20 years, building habits around innovation while waiting patiently for the Internet of Things, Cloud connectivity and other enablers to arrive and transform the sector, placing him in an exciting place at the right time!

Chris is the Vice-President of Marketing for Schneider Electric Pacific Zone. There’s more to the title, but the extra detail tends to complicate things and Chris prefers simplicity. Ask him if you’re interested in the detail.

Nadia Cameron

Publisher and Editor, CMO

Nadia is a respected industry Journalist and Editor with more than 15 years’ experience across consumer, business and professional media brands. Throughout her career, she has maintained a focus on technology and business-to-business sectors, contributing to Australian Telecom and Business Asia before joining IDG Communications Australia’s online team in 2002 and working across Computerworld, PC World and LinuxWorld. Nadia became the News Editor of Australian Reseller News (ARN) in 2004 and was awarded the Best Technology Industry Journalist Award at the IT Journalism Awards the same year. As ARN’s Editor from 2007, she was not only responsible for the ARN weekly publication but also spearheaded its digital expansion and ARN Review e-mag launch, while also developing and chairing its highly successful roundtable series and annual Awards program. ARN was recognised as Best Industry Title in 2008.

Nadia was Managing Editor of a collection of national and global business publications for the UK live events industry produced by independent publisher, Mash Media, between 2010 and 2012. During this time, she relaunched and grew its flagship titles Exhibition News and Exhibition World, the latter of which won Best Relaunch/Innovation of the Year at the 2012 UK PPA Independent Publisher Awards. She also created FaceTime Magazine, aimed at event marketers.

Nadia rejoined IDG Australia in 2013 to develop and then launching the CMO brand in April 2013 as a dedicated title for the modern marketing chief.
