A few facts and figures on the State of Australian CMOs

Help us once again shine a light on these kinds of important insights into modern marketing leadership and complete our 2022 research survey

Did you know the median tenure of Australia senior marketing leaders in 2021 sat at about 3 years, 2 months? Or that one in four CMOs found their IT/technology counterparts to be a significant roadblock to success? How about the fact that half of Australian marketing leaders actually increased their budgets last year compared to pre-Covid levels?

These are just a few of many important, interesting and insightful findings that came out of CMO’s annual State of the CMO research survey in 2021. And they’re the kinds of insights we’re hoping to provide to our CMO readers once more in 2022. But we need your help to do it!

Now entering its sixth year, the annual State of the CMO program is designed to shine a light on the business and functional standing of Australia’s marketing leaders, as well as their technology purchasing, staffing priorities, leadership and collaboration channels, and more. Through our survey, we ask senior marketing leaders to share with us their influence and business clout and evolving functional approach in order to gauge the progression of modern marketing leadership.

The State of the CMO 2022 survey is open now and is brought to you this year by Optimizely. We’re calling on Australian senior marketers to please share their valuable insights by filling in this year’s survey, which should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

Those who do will have the opportunity to win a $500 RedBalloon experience voucher. The first 25 respondents will also receive a complimentary ticket to our CMO Momentum conference in August 2022. All participants will also receive a courtesy whitepaper PDF of the full report.

All responses are kept confidential and only used in aggregate, and no personal information is kept. To see the full terms and conditions of this survey, please click here.
