Kia Motors Australia has confirmed a new general manager of marketing and promoted its former marketing leader to a fresh position on the local executive team.

Dean Norbiato joins the Kia group as general manager of marketing from Bastion EBA, where he spent the past four years as a group account director working with the automotive manufacturer. Prior to this, he was partnerships manager for Swisse Wellness, and also formerly held marketing roles with Swimming Australia.

Norbiato’s appointment comes as former GM of marketing, Manuel Tyras, steps up to take control of the network development department, a key role in growing the Australian business. Tyras initially joined Kia as a brand manager in 2014 before being appointed GM of marketing less than a year later. His resume includes marketing stints with Citroen and Hyundai locally.

In a statement, Kia Motors Australia COO, Damien Meredith, said there are always benefits to a business having a “fresh pair of eyes”.

“In this instance, we are able to have some fresh ideas in two key departments without sacrificing any experience,” he said.

“Manual clearly understands Kia’s core business requirements and will bring a focused view of what is required in the network development sphere, while Dean has previously worked with us from his previous position at Bastion and brings a fresh view on key areas.”
