Recruitment software provider, PageUp People, has appointed Daniel McDermott as its global chief marketing officer, based in Melbourne.

McDermott is now tasked with driving cultural transformation and developing marketing strategies globally. Prior to joining the vendor last month, he was a vice-president of marketing for CA Technologies, and was responsible for implementing a multi-channel marketing strategy for Australia and then Asia-Pacific.

McDermott has also worked in marketing for Ericsson, Damovo and RequestDSL, and was recognised for marketing and communications excellence by the Australian Marketing Institute.

In a statement, PageUp CEO, Karen Cariss, said his appointment came as the vendor evolved its product suite as well as embarked on the next phase of commercial growth. McDermott reports directly to the CEO.

“The shortage of skilled labour across the globe means companies are finding it even more challenging to find, hire and keep qualified talent,” she commented. “As we continue to maintain our focus on delivering one comprehensive software platform that spans the entire talent lifecycle, we look forward to Daniel’s tremendous passion for innovation and contribution to results-driven marketing.”

McDermott said he planned to apply “new, innovative marketing methods to foundational marketing principles” in order to further engage customers and drive additional brand value.

“I am excited to join PageUp and help position the brand for the next phase of its global growth as the company continues to develop and introduce new talent management solutions for the market,” he added.

PageUp’s headquarters are in Melbourne, and it also maintains offices in Sydney, London, new York, Hong Kong and Singapore.
