Real estate group, Marshall White, has appointed a new general manager of marketing as well as chief commercial officer as it looks to build its prestige reputation in market.

The Victoria-based company has recruited former Royal Dutch Shell senior brand advisor, Tammy Atlee, as its new GM of marketing. Atlee’s resume includes a raft of marketing experience including senior marketing roles with Treasury Wine Estates and LVMH. She commenced her career in agency-side account management. She indirectly replaces former GM of marketing and digital, Rod Collins, who has transitioned to a digital and data focused position.

Sitting alongside Atlee on the executive leadership team is Tony Sesto, the group’s new chief commercial officer. Prior to joining Marshall White, Sesto was GM of marketing at BMW Group Australia for four years and spent a total of 12 years with the automotive group including several general management positions. Earlier in this career, Sesto also spent 10 years with Honda covering sales, customer service and area management.

Marshall White CEO, Simon Jovanovic, said the appointments are part of a determined growth phase for the company. He highlighted the experience of both executives across prestige brands as key to their appointments.

“The addition of Tammy and Tony to the team complements the growth we have experienced over the past two years, which includes the opening of new company-owned offices in Mount Eliza, Balwyn and most recently Manningham,” Jovanovic stated. “These new offices, in addition to our existing company-owned offices in Stonnington, Boroondara, Port Phillip and Bayside, mean Marshall White now has a team of over 350 property professionals in sales, property management and project sales all focused on servicing the premium property markets of Melbourne.

“The aim of this new ‘super powerhouse’ team is to provide cohesion between the marketing and sales functions of the company, with Tony acting as a conduit between the two departments to ensure that the marketing and sales strategies align.”

As marketing chief, Atlee’s remit centres around elevating the Marshall White brand within the prestige real estate market as well as evolving and implementing marketing strategies for both clients and the group’s joint venture businesses.

“I am excited to be a member of such a passionate team and helping to bring the company’s ambitious growth plans to life. Marshall White is at the forefront of prestige real estate, and I am looking forward to strengthening our position within established and burgeoning new markets,” she said.

Sesto, meanwhile, saw his new role at Marshall White bringing together his diverse experience in sales, marketing and customer service.

“There is a clear connection between the prestige automotive industry and prestige real estate, so my time at BMW provides an ideal foundation for taking what is already a leading brand to the next level,” he said.

Marshall White director, John Bongiorno, added the new appointments are part of a strategic plan to ensure the company’s future success.

“We see the appointment of Tony and Tammy as a step towards creating greater collaboration between the marketing and sales functions of our company, which will achieve the joint goal of maximising client outcomes and growing our brand within existing markets and into new horizons,” he said.
