New GM marketing among Swoop's latest senior appointments

ASX-listed telco provider bolsters senior leadership ranks

ASX-listed telco, Swoop, has recruited a new general manager of marketing as one of four fresh senior role appointments across the organisation.

Samantha Seci has recently joined the wholesale infrastructure services provider as GM of marketing, bringing with her more than 25 years’ experience as a marketing professional. Her previous roles include 18 years with Telstra, brand and marketing management for Vocus Group, and head of marketing for Appscore.

Swoop has also brought on David Michaels as head of sales and marketing for business and consumer lines. He comes with more than 15 years’ experience in the telco sales and marketing space, and also previously worked at Vocus Group.

The third senior position change is the internal promotion of Sean Clarke, formerly of NodeOne, to chief revenue officer. He’s had 25 years’ experience as a sales leader across multiple countries and industries and both B2B and B2C sales environments across small startups in Europe through to tier one telcos in Australia.

Swoop acquired NodeOne in February last year, one of nine acquisitions made by the business in 12 months. The most recent is of Queensland-based national mobile virtual operator, Moose Mobile, and was valued at $24 million.

Sherene Shridhar has also joined Swoop as chief people officer. She previously held head of people and culture roles in finance and technology industries in ASX companies.

“I am thrilled to be joining Swoop at such an exciting time for the business,” Seci commented. “Alex [West CEO] and his team have been nothing but welcoming, and after a couple of years of heavy acquisitions I am excited to join this reinvigorated executive team to push Swoop out to the market as the B2B partner in the Australian telco space.”

Michaels added It is the time to be out in the market and showing channel partners exactly why they are a part of the Swoop group. “We want to continue to make them feel excited about the opportunities that it brings,” he said.

Swoop has a focus on regional Australia and provides more than 30,000 services, half of which are fixed wireless. In WA, Swoop operates under the brand of wireless infrastructure provider, NodeOne, and has existing infrastructure in the region.
