Blooms The Chemist has appointed a new chief marketing officer to build brand strategy and drive visibility as well as build out its marketing team.
Yvette Costi officially took up the position with the pharmacy network operator last week after previously consulting to the team. Costi comes with a wealth of marketing and brand senior level experience across large, global organisations including professional services firms, Unispace and Yoo; London residential property developer, Mount Anvil; and Crown Group Holdings. She’s also overseen design teams at Caro Communications.
Costi’s agenda at Blooms The Chemist includes building brand and increasing its visibility, and streamlining marketing operations. Priorities off the back of this include expanding the brand’s marketing team, bringing key skillsets into the business to better support an expanding store network of Pharmacist-owners. Costi will also work closely with departments to ensure strategic marketing initiatives are integrated to promote success from Blooms The Chemist’s Support Office to the store level.
Costi said she’s excited about the new role and the opportunities it will provide.
“I am proud to be joining a brand that puts the health and wellbeing of its communities first,” Costi said. “Blooms The Chemist has a clear vision on the role and future of community pharmacy, and I look forward to working with our network of Pharmacists and store teams to further strengthen our support of communities around Australia.”
Blooms The Chemist CEO, Emmanuel Vavoulas, said Costi’s diverse senior-level experience was a key reason for her appointment.
“Yvette is an experienced senior executive who brings an extensive background in brand strategy, performance marketing, and digital transformation to the Blooms The Chemist team,” he said. “Her experience across several global brands in diverse industries reflects a strategic move on Blooms The Chemist’s behalf to future-proof business growth and provide even greater value for our customers and pharmacies.
“With her progressive and people-centric approach, I am confident she will be a strong addition to our senior leadership group.”
The new CMO appointment follows the promotion of Blooms The Chemist former marketing chief, Pamela Bishop, to chief operations officer.
