Car loan startup hires marketing, analytics, partnerships leaders

CarClarity focuses on building business foundations after raising $3 million for its car financing marketplace offering

Car loan platform, CarClarity, has brought on a new head of marketing as one of a trio of leadership recruits.

Bridget Devlin joins as head of marketing from Make It Cheaper, where she oversaw the marketing function for just shy of three years. She has 20 years’ experience across customer acquisition and retention locally and in the UK, including roles in the telecoms and energy sectors with ACN Pacific, Safari Mobile, Globalgig and startup, MyRepublic Australia.

The new position with CarClarity sees Devlin tasked with growing the customer base and brand and building out customer journeys to increase conversion and retention.

Devlin is sitting alongside new chief analytics and risk officer, Elias Istanbouli, who joins CarClarity from Prospa, where he was head of risk insights and solutions. During this time, he spearheaded development of the financial service company’s credit decision engine.

The third senior hire is Jem Corden, who joins CarClarity as head of strategic partnerships. He comes with experience at fintechs such as humm Group and Shift (formerly GetCapital).

CarClarity’s platform is designed to connect car buyers to financing providers, and to provide a marketplace for loan comparison through to application and approval.

The appointments comes off the back of a recent Series A $3 million funding round, led by Equity Venture Partners, into CarClarity. The company, which launched locally in March 2020, claims to have seen revenue increase by 600 per cent in 2021 and has brought on 21 new employees this year as a result. It’s also recently undertaken an integration with Compare Club.

CarClarity founder and CEO, Zaheer Jappie, said the focus since raising the funds has been on building the right foundations for sustainable growth. These will also include further business team investments in 2022 in support roles such as finance and HR.

“Finding the right talent with the right experience, a love for taking on challenges and passion for driving growth is a critical part of this. We identified key areas that we needed to focus on in order to take the brand to the next level,” he said. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have someone of Bridget, Elias, and Jem’s calibre joining at CarClarity.”
