Nicole Sheffield has switched Australia Post for Wesfarmers, joining the ASX-listed retail owner to supercharge its digital and data capabilities.
Sheffield joins Wesfarmers’ executive leadership team as a managing director from November and is tasked with leading development of what it’s hoping will be a market-leading data and digital ecosystem. She reports directly to Wesfarmers managing director, Rob Scott.
In a statement, Wesfarmers highlighted Sheffield’s experience across ecommerce and digital businesses throughout her career, as well as her extensive experience linking customer experience and digital strategy, as key reasons for her appointment.
“This is a new role for Wesfarmers, reflecting the strategic importance and growth potential of our data and digital strategies, and Nicole will work in close partnerships with the divisions,” Scott said.
Wesfarmers is the parent company for Coles, Bunnings, Kmart Group, Officeworks, Catch Group and Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety and Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers.
Sheffield has spent the past three years at Australia Post as its inaugural executive general manager of consumer and community, the group’s first executive-level customer role. Prior to this, Sheffield spent 10 years with News Corp, holding such roles as CEO of News Digital Networks Australia and CEO of NewsLifeMedia before becoming chief digital officer in 2017. She was also formerly GM of lifestyle channels for Foxtel.
