Music bodies, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) are installing a new marketing and communications manager from later this month.
Tessa Kerans officially joins the two organisations on 27 July 2021 and will report directly to CEO, Annabelle Herd. She has been recruited from music promotion and relations company, Six Boroughs, where she spent nearly five years, most recently as its senior media manager. Her resume also includes public relations, product management and marketing positions.
Her new remit covers developing and leading marketing and communication strategies for both ARIA and PPCA across paid, owned and earned media. CMO understands the role reflects a fresh and revamped take on marketing and strategy.
Herd highlighted Kerans’ passion for Australian music and experience in marketing and strategy as reasons behind her appointment.
“Tessa’s passion for Australian music and her experience across strategy development, project management, marketing, promotion, publicity and artist PR services make her the perfect fit for the ARIA and PPCA team,” she said.
“It’s an exciting time at ARIA and PPCA, with lots of great opportunities to promote the success and value of the Australian music industry and Australian recording artists, and I can’t wait for Tessa to get started.”
Kerans said she’s joining at a moment of change within the industry. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a passionate and dynamic team and be part of organisations as important as ARIA and PPCA,” she said.
