Former marketing leader for Australia’s Endota Spa brand, Amanda Connors, has rejoined the wellness industry with a new role at essential oils provider, doTerra.

Connors has taken on the role of director of marketing and communications at doTerra, a remit including digital marketing strategy for Australia and New Zealand. She reports directly to the A/NZ general manager, Adam Berry, and oversees a team of about 10 staff.

Connors told CMO one of the reasons the role appealed was the company’s strong corporate social responsibility program and co-impact sourcing of products to better support and sustain farmers in the 45 countries it sources ingredients from. In addition, the company runs the Healing Hands Foundation to support development projects in sourcing communities.

A love of the wellness industry was another factor in Connor’s decision to join doTerra. Prior to this role, she spent five years with the Endota Spa business as general manager of marketing, where she helped build out a fresh brand identity, debut the brand to China, introduced a loyalty program and spearheaded customer engagement initiatives.

“Getting to come to work every day and live and breathe my passion is brilliant. I love the wellness products and the story behind them, it is so easy to work for a brand when you truly believe in the products,” Connors said.

“DoTerra produces the purest market leading essential oil products, sourcing the best ingredients from around the globe to ensure they are of premium quality. It is such an incredible story. doTerra not only produces world leading essential oils, they produce these using co-impact sourcing, giving back to local communities.”

Connors also cited a strong culture and leadership values lived and breathed across the business.

Top-line priorities are driven by “making this brand famous in the Australian and New Zealand”, she said. The brand aims to do this “by delivering a strong wellness product strategy, developing a market leading customer experience, and driving high customer engagement with our wellness advocates”, Connors said.

Connors’ resume also includes marketing, brand and communication roles with Myer, Westpac and API.
