Former McDonald’s and Oporto marketer, Bronwyn Powell, has been appointed marketing director at Mars Food Australia to ‘drive change’.
Powell is taking over from Tim Hicks, who has been in the role for two and a half years. Powell will head its portfolio of well-known brands, including Masterfoods, Uncle Bens, Dolmio, and Kan Tong.
She has more than 25 years’ experience in senior leader FMCG roles, including at Snackfoods, George Weston Foods (Tip Top Bakeries), SPC Ardmona (Coca-Cola Amatil), and Yum! Restaurants International.
“We are thrilled to have Bronwyn joining our leadership team. She is a commercially astute marketer who thinks digital first and is passionate about innovation and transformational change – attributes we need to create food for the future and not for the past,” Mars Food Australia general manager, Hamish Thomson, said.
“A key focus for Bronwyn will be to help shape Mars Food Australia’s future growth strategy, which will be driven by innovation into new flavours and formats and the sharing of healthier, easier, affordable, tasty meals.”
Powell joins Mars Food Australia from Oporto Franchising, after repositioning the brand in-market and developing a customer experience strategy.
“It’s an honour and pleasure to join the highly esteemed Mars Food team who are working to make dinner time matter,” Powell said.
“The Mars Food business is on the cusp of exciting change and I can’t wait to bring my experience and a digital lens to help drive that change, and to continue to delight consumers and customers.”
