As traditional retailers rethink their strategies around loyalty cards and customer data, Qantas and Myer have joined forces with mobile wallet app provider, Stocard, and pilot their loyalty programs on the company’s app.
Qantas and Myer join the list of Australian retailers using Stocard including Woolworths Group, Wesfarmers and Spotlight Retail Group.
Currently in trial phase, the latest sign-ups are working with Stocard to roll out various campaigns extending special offers to loyalty members via the app for Qantas epiQure and Myer one customers.
Stocard is headquartered in Germany but has a local presence in Australia. It has more than 17 million global users and provides an app that lets users store all their loyalty cards in one place on their smartphones.
As part of the plan, the brands will work with Stocard to trial out various campaigns and extend special offers to Stocard’s user-base of 1.7 million Australians, a high proportion of which are female household decision makers, according to the company. Marketers will be able to engage with existing customers as well as acquire new customers, the company noted.
Recently released data from Stocard ranked Qantas Frequent Flyer and Myer one in its top five most popular loyalty programs, the majority being female customers.
Stocard A/NZ country manager, Radinck van Vollenhoven, said retail partners have experienced, on average, a 10 per cent uptake in sales due to increased transactions from customers engaging with retailer offers inside the Stocard app.
“We feel privileged to collaborate with such prestigious retail brands – Qantas and Myer – and are excited for the opportunity to connect consumers with these brands to receive great deals for being loyalty members. From a merchant perspective, Stocard creates value for retailers by unlocking access to consumer data previously unavailable, allowing them to increase engagement with personalised offers and drive sales growth.”
Earlier this year, Stocard launched a mobile payment capability, offering users a holistic shopping experience, from browsing offers to paying at the point of sale, within the Stocard app.
