Vodafone appoints new CMO, customer services director

Two new hires are Globe telecom and Telstra, respectively

Vodafone Australia has confirmed the appointment of Globe Telecom’s Loo Fun Chee as its new chief marketing officer.

Chee replaces Kim Clarke, who leaves the telco this month after just over two years as its CMO. She is relocating to Australia from the Philippines, where she is currently senior advisor and head of consumer marketing and was responsible for driving growth in mobile data monetisation, customer loyalty management, business intelligence and digital marketing.

Chee’s resume also includes channel marketing and retail-oriented roles with Maxis Communications, along with client services positions at JWT in Malaysia looking after brands such as Citibank, Unilever and Nestle. She commences her new role on 5 January.

Vodafone has also appointed Errol van Graan as its new director of customer service. He comes from Telstra, where he was director of consumer sales and service contact centres, and joins the group on 11 February 2015. Graan is replacing sales and service director, Cormac Hodgkinson.

The two appointments are the latest in several senior leadership role changes at Vodafone in the past year.

The telco also appointed new CEO, Inaki Berroreta, in March following the departure of Bill Morrow to NBN Co.

“Vodafone has set its sights on some strong business performance targets in 2015, and I am confident that I have the right leadership team in place to deliver them,” Berroeta said.

“Errol and Loo Fun both bring considerable expertise and experience in diverse markets and I look forward to the impact they will make at Vodafone in Australia. We’re looking forward to the year ahead.”
