Software monitoring platform, Raygun, has appointed a new VP of growth to oversee marketing, sales and channel partnerships in Australia as well as globally.

Eliza Clulow joins the team from Microsoft’s GitHub business, where she spent nearly four years as director of APAC marketing. During this time, her team helped GitHub chalk up 70 per cent year-on-year growth as well as expand business into India and Greater China.

Prior to this, Clulow held marketing program management roles with IT vendor, Rackspace, as well as Capital-e Marketing and Events. She previously spent six years as managing founder of wellness business, 6WC.

As VP of growth for Raygun, Clulow will oversee marketing, sales and channel partner functions and is tasked with driving up brand awareness, influencing product innovation and building connection with the company’s 100,000-strong developer customer base globally. Raygun provides software error and performance monitoring solutions.

In a statement, Raygun CEO, John-Daniel Trask, highlighted Clulow’s entrepreneurial and strategic skill sets as well as a proven track record in development and running marketing and growth strategies as key to her appointment.

“Eliza brings first-hand experience in building high-growth marketing teams to the role, as well as a deep understanding of the software development market through her time at GitHub and Rackspace. We’re excited to have her join the Raygun leadership team as we continue on our upward trajectory,” he said.

Clulow said she was excited to be joining an APAC founded tech company.

“After collaborating with Raygun in my role at GitHub I was struck by the company culture and particularly interested in the opportunity to scale an APAC company to a global audience,” she said. “I’m hugely passionate about providing both developers, and the brands they work for, best-in-breed tooling which is exactly what Raygun does. It provides developers and brands with real-time insights and visibility into the quality and performance of Web and mobile apps, enabling businesses to deliver flawless digital experiences to their customers.”

Marketing prowess versus the enigma of the metaverse

Flash back to the classic film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Television-obsessed Mike insists on becoming the first person to be ‘sent by Wonkavision’, dematerialising on one end, pixel by pixel, and materialising in another space. His cinematic dreams are realised thanks to rash decisions as he is shrunken down to fit the digital universe, followed by a trip to the taffy puller to return to normal size.

More than money talks in sports sponsorship

As a nation united by sport, brands are beginning to learn money alone won’t talk without aligned values and action. If recent events with major leagues and their players have shown us anything, it’s the next generation of athletes are standing by what they believe in – and they won’t let their values be superseded by money.
