Acorn's growth strategy sees marcomms leader join as Australian GM

Suzannah Marinkovic will steer Acorn Strategy's local business from its new Melbourne base

Marketing communications agency, Acorn Strategy, has brought on experienced brand marketing and communications leader, Suzannah Marinkovic, as its new general manager of Australia. The appointment comes as the agency expands out of its Perth footprint and relocates headquarters to Melbourne.

Marinkovic came from Beyond the Lines where she was briefly a director. She held a similar role between 2018-2019, when she focused on tourism clients including Melbourne Convention Bureau, Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism, Murray Regional Tourism, MTV and Victoria Tourism Council.

In between roles at Beyond the Lines, Marinkovic was with State Library of Victoria as head of brand and audience then as director of experiences for two years. Prior to Beyond the Lines, Marinkovic worked in the tourism sector once again with Visit Victoria for seven years, rising to strategic partnerships manager. Marinkovic has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing communications.

“It’s a time of great opportunity for a marketing communications businesses in Australia as new projects and brands are coming out of hibernation and businesses are responding to the forever-changed landscape,” said Marinkovic.

Acorn Strategy founder and CEO, Kate Midttun, said the agency is not only keen to be closer to its clients, but also to be positioned to serve them better.

“Our move to a new office makes eminent sense as Australia is re-opening for business, and we are seeing client demand for marketing and communications increase post-pandemic,” said Midttun.

Marinkovic is replacing former Acorn GM, Annabel Amann, who is transitioning to global client experience director. With Amann’s seven-year history with the agency in UAE and Australia, plus 20 years in the industry, Midttun said she's has been instrumental in the growth and development of Acorn Strategy

Acorn Strategy has offices in Melbourne, Perth, and Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
