Introducing our new masterclass for CMOs

CMO partners on a new elite learning experience to help marketing chiefs successfully transform the marketing function

CMO is delighted to be partnering with marketing leadership consultancy, Arktic Fox, on a new elite learning experience focused on helping you transform your marketing function.

Our inaugural one-day ‘Transforming the marketing function’ masterclass is designed to help Australian marketing leaders turn their existing teams into strong, relevant performers for the future.

In a time of disruption, flatlining growth and changing customer expectations, marketing has never been more important. Yet many are struggling to grasp what’s required to orchestrate marketing sustainably in this environment.

This one-day masterclass provides marketing leaders with the opportunity to learn the essential components to drive transformational change and build a modern marketing function. Masterclass numbers are capped at 14, providing an intimate setting so attendees can most effectively share thoughts and ideas with peers and wrestle with the very real challenges of transforming teams.

This special course will explore:

  • Drivers of change, shifts in accountability and how the marketing organisation is changing
  • A marketing transformation framework, process and strategic pillars to build a modern marketing function
  • Key capabilities & competencies required to build a modern marketing function
  • New ways of working, such as agile marketing, which enable your organisation to test, learn & iterate and work cross-functionally
  • Creating a new structure that works

Our facilitator is highly seasoned and well-regarded former CMO of World Vision, Teresa Sperti. A customer and digital leader with over 20 years’ experience working for leading brands including Coles, Officeworks and World Vision, Teresa has led teams of over 70 people across analytics, data, digital, experience, content and more and was listed in the top 20 of 2018 edition of the CMO50 for her stellar work.

She’s now founded Arktic Fox, an advisory and learning organisation specialising in customer transformation and growth.

This is a unique, practical learning experience being spearheaded by an experienced CMO and one not to be missed. Sign up before 31 January, and you’ll get our special earlybird rate of $950 (RRP: $1099).

You’re doing it wrong: Emotion doesn’t mean emotional

If you’ve been around advertising long enough, you’ve probably seen (or written) a slide which says: “They won’t remember what you say, they’ll remember how you made them feel.” But it’s wrong. Our understanding of how emotion is used in advertising has been ill informed and poorly applied.

Why does brand execution often kill creativity?

The launch of a new brand, or indeed a rebrand, is a transformation to be greeted with fanfare. So why is it that once the brand has launched, the brand execution phase can also be the moment at which you kill its creativity?
