Radio Rentals marketer moves to Super SA

Former CMO50 2018 One to Watch, Caroline Patrick, takes on brand and membership engagement

Former Radio Rentals SA marketer, CMO50 2018 One to Watch, and head judge for AMI, Caroline Patrick, is the new director of brand and member engagement for Super SA.

Patrick has held senior and executive marketing roles with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Police and Emergency Services Health, and Radio Rentals.

Super SA told CMO Patrick brings strong experience in corporate branding, customer experience, governance and strategy, which will complement Super SA’s new-look, highly-skilled executive team.

“Caroline will be a real asset to the Super SA team. Her appointment aligns well with our strategic plan and her role will support us in all that we do for members,” said Super SA chief executive, Dascia Bennett.

“Her experience in member engagement is going to be a real positive for us as we work to build relationships with our members and make the super experience even better for employees of the SA public sector.”

Super SA manages superannuation for over 200,000 public sector employees and partners with specialist investment manager, Funds SA to invest over $28 billion.

Patrick was national general manager marketing and customer insights Radio Rentals SA for just over 18 months, during which time she created a new brand to take the Radio Rentals Group into the NSW market and built out a data-driven marketing and insights function that could succeed in an omni-channel retailing and communications environment. It was work that was recognised in the 2018 edition of CMO50.

It is unclear if Patrick will be replaced at Radio Rentals SA, which has moved to a new operating model.

Marketing prowess versus the enigma of the metaverse

Flash back to the classic film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Television-obsessed Mike insists on becoming the first person to be ‘sent by Wonkavision’, dematerialising on one end, pixel by pixel, and materialising in another space. His cinematic dreams are realised thanks to rash decisions as he is shrunken down to fit the digital universe, followed by a trip to the taffy puller to return to normal size.

More than money talks in sports sponsorship

As a nation united by sport, brands are beginning to learn money alone won’t talk without aligned values and action. If recent events with major leagues and their players have shown us anything, it’s the next generation of athletes are standing by what they believe in – and they won’t let their values be superseded by money.
