Foxtel has confirmed a new group head of marketing joins the team in late March, an appointment that follows a string of marketing and sales changes in recent months.
In an internal memo, the pay TV player confirmed former National Broadband Network (NBN) GM of marketing, John Casey, is joining the business on 22 March in the newly created role of group director, marketing.
Casey was most recently with Supercars. Prior to this, he built his career in marketing with the likes of NBN and Vodafone in Australia. Before that, he was in the UK, working in marketing for Brand Consulting Group as well as financial services player, Egg.
“In order to ensure we continue to elevate all areas of Foxtel’s marketing communications, we have created a new role – group director, marketing,” the memo read. “The key roles that will report into this new role are: Entertainment marketing, sports marketing, product marketing, brand and retail marketing.”
Casey’s appointment comes just days after Foxtel confirmed its GM of advertising sales and brand partnerships, Andrew Mulready, was leaving after a decade with the business.
The news also comes after several other high-profile departures in recent months, including director of sports marketing, Adam Ballesty, after a six-month stint, as well as group CMO, Andy Lark, after nine months. Foxtel appointed former REA chief marketing and content officer, Kieran Cooney, as its new chief of marketing and sales in Lark’s stead.
