Now you can pick up your eBay orders at Woolworths

Click and collect service opens first in Sydney and Tasmania

Woolworths and eBay announced a delivery pickup service for customers to collect their online eBay purchases at their local supermarket.

After purchasing from eBay, customers can pick up their order at more than 90 Woolworths and Big W stores across Sydney and Tasmania, where the service will first launch. The service will be extended to other locations over the next three years, they said.

Participating sellers include Your Home Depot, No Frills, Surf Stitch, Mytopia, Futu Online and Golfbox. The service will expand to include 250 sellers within two months, said eBay and Woolworths. Woolworths and eBay expect up to 12,000 sellers will eventually support the service.

With the eBay click and collect service, Woolworths aims to bring more convenience to its customers, said Emily Amos, general manager of Woolworths marketplace.

“This new service will help them make best use of their time by removing the need to wait at home for a parcel to arrive,” she said.

For eBay, the service “creates a brand new avenue for our sellers, driving traffic and encouraging a rise in sales that could change the face of businesses all over the country,” said Hamish Moline, eBay merchant development director.

“Not only that, it’s a service we hope will revolutionise the way Australians shop, enabling a new and convenient way to get the things they need and want every day.”

The partnership with Woolworths in Australia follows a similar arrangement in the UK with Argos, said Moline.

“Convenient delivery options have already proved hugely successful for eBay UK via a partnership with Argos and we’re looking forward to seeing an equally impressive uptake in Australia through a partnership that re-imagines retail.”
